A great way to get your cardio fitness and improve your style in other dances such as Kizomba and Semba.

OUR AFROBEATS / AFRO-HOUSE CLASSES

Learn some of the most popular steps in current urban African dance, popularized by the music videos of popular Afrobeats artists. In addition to Afrobeats we also introduce students to the more energetic Afro-house dance, a style popular in several African countries. The style we teach, Afro-House from Angola, is more strongly influenced by kuduro, an up-tempo, energetic, sometimes aggressive and agitated dance style. Afro-house presents a softer and more fluid version of it where the moves flow to the hypnotic beats of house music mixed with African tribal influences.
These classes will break down and allow you to practice some of the most basic yet challenging moves that form the vocabulary of current Afrobeats and Afro-House dance, such as:
  • Shaku Shaku
  • Gwara Gwara
  • Azonto
  • Coupé Décalé
  • Kwasa Kwasa (Ndonbolo)
  • Abrir and its variants, Fechar
  • Toque
  • Açúcar, Sal
  • Ignora
  • Sangra and its many variants
  • Kwankwaram
  • Banzelo
  • Péngua and many more!
